Vail, CO – September 27, 2005 – Explore the other side of Vail this winter with adventures in dog sledding, snowcat tours, snowmobiling, snow tubing or ice skating with the Lodge at Vail’s “Off the Slopes in Vail” package.  Guests at the Lodge can learn a new skill, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and relax at the intimate and elegant RockResort, located in the heart of Vail Village.

The Off the Slopes in Vail package is available November 17, 2005 through April 16, 2006 and starts at $449 per night, a savings of 22 percent. Package is based on double occupancy and includes three nights accommodations, daily breakfast for two and five great winter activities per person: snowmobiling, dog sledding, snowcat tours, snow tubing and ice skating.  This offer is subject to availability and blackout dates apply.  A three-night minimum stay is required, and gratuity and taxes are not included.

For snowmobiling enthusiasts, a tour of Rocky Mountain backcountry in the White River National Forest will get the adrenaline rushing.  Guests can also experience the thrill of mushing their own team of huskies during a dog sledding session, while snowcat tours in the unique, heated four-track vehicles are an ideal way to enjoy the spectacular scenery.  For the young and young at heart, a day of snow tubing and ice skating at Adventure Ridge on the top of Vail Mountain is an exciting winter opportunity.

The Lodge at Vail, a RockResort renowned for relaxed luxury and impeccable personal service, is situated in Vail Village where guests enjoy shopping by day and renowned nightlife after dusk.  Featuring mountain and village views, The Lodge’s 165 rooms and suites are reminiscent of a fine European chalet with accents of mahogany and marble.  The intimate alpine resort offers two exceptional restaurants including The Wildflower, which is rated the number one restaurant in Vail by ZAGATSurvey, as well as a live entertainment bar.  For the ultimate secluded hideaway, The Lodge’s Game Creek Chalet is a four-bedroom, four-bath, European-style retreat situated 10,500 feet atop Vail Mountain.  The Lodge at Vail was named one of Travel + Leisure’s 500 Greatest Hotels in the World.
